In 1962 the 2 seater with triple carbs (BN7II) was the ideal car for the factory to take on the European Rally curcuit. The factory produced 355 of them from 1961 into 1962. Just enough to qualify as a “Production” car. The result were rather stunning with wins in the Tulip, Acropolis Rallies, in both mens and womens classes. Plus excellent showings in the RAC rally (2nd). This provided plenty for the factories publicity department to work with and these cars were all over the motoring press.
The car on offer is one of these 355 production cars. It is a late car with the stronger center shift gearbox. Matching numbers. Perfectly restored in its original colors. Old English white with red interior. If you have not driven one before then you should. Nimble, plenty of power, with no bad habits. This car was restored in the 1990’s and shows very well. Lovely original floors and sills. California car when new.
Heritage certificate available.
